The lion always looks for the 3 legged zebra, the one that’s easy to catch and won’t put up much of a fight. The lion seldom targets the biggest, strongest, meanest looking zebra.
Why? Because the lion is lazy. It doesn’t want to work hard.
Bad guys are the same. They would rather target the meek than randomly get stuck with someone who fights back.
So don’t look like a victim. Stand taller, pull back your shoulders, lift your chin, shift your gaze to the horizon and walk with a sense of purpose.
I like to image there’s a big beam of light shooting from my chest - kind of like Iron Man. And wherever I go, I am shining that beam of light ahead of me with a little smile on my face.
It makes me appear more confident. It also makes me feel more assertive.
Walking tall and displaying an air of confidence will create a protective cocoon - making you appear less vulnerable. It’s like mosquito spray, keeping the little pests at bay.
Not feeling it? Fake it if you have to. You will be surprised how well it works.
By the way, be sure to sit tall, too. No slouching. You want to appear confident regardless of what you are doing.
